Layout Progress

Lots have changed since the last post.

The layout is now a Modular 6ft by 1ft baseboard with a small fiddle yard included as it will be for the future.
Built on limited budget so far and the odd piece i found lying around at work....

Calderfoot

Milestone
Since due to the setback concerning one of the boards,
I have now managed to complete track laying in all boards,

Now all I need to do is either Pursue Wiring or building the supports, but that will have to be left for another time, with this busy Fortnight coming up it will once again go into store, but hopefully not for longer :)

until next time....

Calderfoot (bad news)

Calderfoot WIP
Recently I decided to get Calderfoot out from Storage (under the bed) and Discovered that one of the Running boards have been damage, so i've had to reduce the size I was going to build to, but luckily Progress can still continue once the track has been relaid.

In other news My Railway Training is going well, Nothing major apart from being qualified to operate a Railsaw on the Rail Network :)

Life Choices....

Progress on hold yet again, But with Good Reason :)

I'm Currently involved in an Interview Process that if successful I could be Learning to become a
Railway Engineer Apprentice for the National Railway Network, Though there's no need to uncover Details about it, other than that it is in Doncaster with a Training Company, which would be involved with other companies to help get into employment in the Sector.

Friday I was successful, Now for getting up early Monday morning, So hopefully I get on this Course and be able to bring more updates to Calderfoot Bank in the Hopeful Near Future..

So while Waiting for the Train Home This Newly Painted Beastly 67 decided to Let Rip through the Centre Road  :)

So Hope a Good Look HST thrash in the morning will help me Progress :)

Injury time....

Ouchy

I know I have not updated this for a while, but with other commitments it make it more impossible to update progress.
Recently I've developed an old injury that has plagued me for a few months now on my Arm and Shoulder, which has put layout building into doubt  Progress will continue once I get the Clear from the Doctor this week and Once my Daughter has gone back to her mothers I Can perhaps start wiring or Scenic's on the Layout which will be fun, But that's if I get the all clear and Future plans could be put into jeopardy so fingers-crossed for Thursday :)

Changes to Layout Plans
Project Calderfoot will Retain its name, but with Possible 3 Layouts to Build that will hold its same name, The first which I'm Currently Building now is called Calderfoot Bank.

Calderfoot Bank
This Layout (being built) is based on an Isolated part of the Town of Calderfoot itself Due to the fact there's a Very Narrow Bridge that connects the Main Round with this estate which make commuting very hard.
The Layout Consist of Two Platforms One for Regualar Traffic the other is for Postal and goods from the Nearby Paper Factory, Which is the Main Reason the keep the line open During the Beeching and Tory Regime in the 80's Because It would of Cost the Government more money to Build a new bridge than maintain the existing Railway..... More Details to follow.....

Project Calderfoot Valley Update 5/1/14

Well only a slight update,

No pictures though yet maybe next week perhaps :)

Update:

Both Current boards are now framed, started lay a section of track on one of the boards,
But the layouts plans have changed again, if I didn't mention Previously the layout is going to be in total length of possibly 17-20ft long inc fiddle yard, Station area will have two platforms and also a relief and maintenance/goods sidings for storage of Track Machines, Locos (Thunderbirds) and Spare Units or Coaching stock.

Slightly of topic:

After a nice walk up the Old Ripponden Branch Line I thought to myself this path looks a lot wetter that usual, but I found the problem.....

One of the Drainage Channels have been blocked by debris, weather it was deliberate or from the Recent Weather I thought to myself, think I should come down one day and unblock it myself, then the Track bed can be traversed more easier than it is now...

Just up the Valley on the More Drier Part, Surprising how much of this Line is still acessable,Someone should build a Heritage Line of Some sort up there :)

Until Next Week....
